- Elias Zananiri is an East Jerusalem Palestinian journalist and political analyst since mid-70s. In 2003, he joined the government of then Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas as spokesman and media advisor to Mr. Mohammad Dahlan, minister of interior and internal security. A while later, following the resignation of Mr. Abbas from his post, Zananiri joined the Palestinian Peace Coalition, a non-governmental body in the Palestinian Territories that promoted the principles of a two-state solution. He first served as media consultant and then director general until January 2007. At present, Zananiri is back to journalism. He also lectures frequently in Israel on current affairs.
